Time to resuscitate the blog

I have neglected this blog. Actually, I forgot all about it. But I am now in possession of a laptop so I have more freedom to disappear and write. I have decided to resuscitate my blog. My OU course is coming to an end soon, so I will have more time to write a blog for no-one to read. Right now my head is full of interlopers, characters for my last short story of the course. Now that I have really started to write every day, I can't sem to concentrate on much else. Anyway, I shall return!

Tired, cranky - poor me!

I am so tired and am a bit of a cranky cow tonight. All that decluttering yesterday did me in! I was busy at work and it wasn't a good day. I feel like a haggard old crone. time for a long bath, I think. At least my cleaner would be happy that the bottom of the house looks less of a pit. Tomorrow in the younger boys room, is a challenge and a half. God knows how many binbags I will fill.

I have reached number 80 on my 101 in 1001 list. The last 21 are proving difficult to pin down. I hope to finish it tomorrow.

So Obama is President. It was wonderful to see all the hope and joy in the crowds. It quietened the cynic in me. Maybe we can hope. Mind you, I remember 'When things could only get better..' in 1997! Anyway, it was nice to see some hope on people's face and some positivity to relieve all the gloom and doom recently.

My poetry is still alluding me. I don't think tales of homemade stock, aching feet and clearing out crap are the type of subjects that my tutor has in mind. I thought I was a poet but when I put pen to paper, it is rather obvious, I am not.

Time to run a bath, load dishwasher, etc, etc!

A busy week

It was back to the old routine this week - school runs, work, after school activities. I am glad it is Friday. I am doing a poetry unit on my OU course at the moment. I have been attempting to wax lyrical but I am not too happy with my efforts. I have managed to stay relatively focused.

I hope to have my 101 in 1001 list finished this weekend. First on my list should be finish list!

On the domestic front, I have been very thrifty this week in my quest to cut down food waste. I have made ham stock, pasta sauce and soup for the freezer. Clover tubs and plastic milk bottles proved very useful for this.

Tomorrow, I am off to Twickenham to watch a rugby game - WASPs v Leinster. I am praying it is not too cold. Not my ideal way to spend a Saturday but that's what happens being the only female in the house!

My first blog

I have set up this blog to try and keep me focussed in my writing. I found the site when I was reseaching 101 in 1001 lists. I am now working on my list and hope to post it soon.

A little about myself. I am 45 and I live in London. I am married and four boys. I have been attempting to write on and off for year but have always been easily distracted. I have decided I want to move forward and dedicate more time to it.

Anyway, more later.
